Roaming in the European Union
event_available 8/2/2024
Many people wonder whether it is worth using
your mobile Internet and telephone while roaming. So let's take a closer look.
EU rules on roaming at domestic prices mean
that when you use your mobile phone when traveling from your own country to any
EU country, you don't have to pay any additional roaming charges. These rules
apply when you call abroad (to mobile and landline numbers), send text messages
(SMS) and use data services.
When crossing the border within the EU, you
will receive a text message from your mobile operator informing you that you
are roaming, and reminiscent of fair use principles.
Good News !
If you spend more time in your country than
abroad, or if you use your mobile phone more often in your own country than
abroad, you can roam freely at domestic prices, anywhere in the EU.
However, it is worth remembering that there
are cases when, after exceeding a sufficiently high limit of data sent in
roaming at the domestic price, you will have to pay extra for data roaming.
When traveling by ship or plane in the EU, you
can roam at domestic prices as long as you are connected to a land-based (land
based relay) mobile network. If mobile services are provided via satellite
systems, roaming at domestic prices does not apply and you will be charged for
unregulated roaming services.
REMEMBER!
Roaming outside the European Union.
EU rules on roaming at domestic prices do not apply
when you call or send text messages from your own country to another EU or non-EU
country

But do you freeze alone or in a group of family and friends? Both options are exciting in different ways and have advantages and disadvantages.
But what would you choose? We can help you make the decision and have listed a few facts for you.
If you travel alone, you decide everything. You don't have to coordinate with anyone and have to deal with when you e.g. want to get up, or what you want to do. You yourself influence what you want to see. Furthermore, traveling alone promotes self-employment. It can be a challenge to face what is going to happen because you don't have a trusted person with whom to rely. On top of that, you are more likely to get in touch with other people and possibly expand your language skills. This can lead to new contacts and maybe even more information about the country and the culture, because local people know the area best.
But we come to freeze in a group. It's no secret that this can be more comfortable. In the event of a problem, you can contact a familiar or familiar person who may be able to help you. This is definitely an option for people who love to be in company and to have their loved ones with them.
Roaming in Thailand

Are you planning a trip to beautiful Thailand? Perfect! Because you have to see Thailand. But before you leave, you should make a concrete plan. Do you already know that you will feel uncomfortable without an internet connection? Understandable! Who doesn't do it these days? You currently have many different ways of getting internet access. But which is the best variant?
The first suggestion would be “roaming” for most people. Sure, the variant is quick and easy. You don't have to deal with any operators abroad, you just switch on roaming. However, most do not know what the costs are. These are considerably large and mostly not manageable. The total roaming charges could be more expensive than the entire trip. Nobody wants to risk that choice.
Our variant would be to get a SIM card before you travel. This saves time, effort and costs. Everything you need on vacation or on a business trip. The advantages are: You are not contractually bound. You only pay for the SIM card. Furthermore, security is very high here, because you will receive the SIM card before you leave. These are important points to consider, especially when traveling to Thailand.
